The set is built on Stage 7 of Screen Gems Studios and is meant to resemble the interior of a typical "brownstone" in Boston. Some of the set dressing is the same dressing that was in Grams' old house (such as the kitchen table and hutch). Most of the dressing though is new, because we never showed Gram's Dining room or Living Room at the old house. All that was on that set was the Kitchen, front porch, and hallway. The feeling for this house was to be a mix of the old and new. Our feeling on this is that it is an old brownstone that had a newly remodeled kitchen. We did not want this house to be a repeat of Gram's old house, but to have some updated elements in it, mainly because Grams would have been shopping for this house with Jen and Jack tagging along. We felt that the kids would have balked at moving into a place that felt too 'period' or aged and they would have definitely steered Grams toward a house that had at least some new elements.
